You can reach Padamchen from NJP Railway station or Bagdogra airport if you are coming via West Bengal, and Gangtok airport if you are coming by air via Gangtok. It is around 140 KM from Siliguri and takes around 6 - 7 hours, Around 90 KMs from Gangtok and takes around 4 - 5 hours via Changu Lake and Gnathang Valley. To reach this place you need to cross Rongli where the Inner Line Permit is issued for which it is mandatory to provide all traveller's 2 copies passport sized photographs and Voter ID/Passport/Driving License as Aadhaar Card is not allowed to be produced in ILPs.
